Chicago – Not realizing that Washington D.C. is not the same thing as the state of Washington, a very confused Mike Ditka called American Airlines in a panic late Sunday evening and attempted to rebook his flight from Chicago to attend the Presidential Inauguration. Friends of the former Chicago Bears coach came to his defense, noting that Ditka was never told that there are “two Washingtons” and that this ticket purchase was one of Ditka’s first experiences using the internet. Ditka was reportedly looking forward to attending the inauguration and remained optimistic he would be able to change his flight. However, as of Monday afternoon, Ditka was still on hold.
