Boston – Shortly after learning he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers as a key piece in the deal that brought Kyrie Irving to Boston, Ante Žižić, known first as a poet and second as a basketball phenom, took to The Players Tribune to thank Celtics fans for an incredible run. “It hurts, man, it really, really hurts,” lamented Žižić, “Boston means so much to me and my family, and I get that it’s a business, but this one really stings. I bleed green.” Celtics fans were universally stunned that General Manager, Danny Ainge, would trade Žižić given how much he’s meant to the franchise. Some fans were outraged at Žižić himself, posting videos to YouTube of them burning his jersey, which was particularly concerning to the Celtics organization as his jersey had never actually been legally made or sold. In his essay, Žižić also expressed his excitement about playing alongside Lebron James, though he has yet to pass a physical which may impact the status of the trade.
