ORLANDO – After spending much of the first half of the Orlando Magic game posting selfies on Instagram that he took in the team shop, in line at Sbarro, and next to the cheerleaders who were awkwardly forced to stand in the aisle next to his seat in Section 306, local fan Darrell Baines achieved his lifelong goal of appearing on the Jumbotron when one of his posts was displayed in front of the 13,074 fans at the Amway Center on Tuesday night. During a timeout with 10:36 left in the third quarter, Darrell looked up to see a picture of himself trying on a Shabazz Napier jersey in the team store that he posted online using the hashtags #Shaballin’ and #Magicam. “It’s almost indescribable… all my life I’ve wanted this recognition – this validation – and I finally got it. My life is complete. I’m ready to die now,” cried Darrel, who was able to capture the moment with his Samsung Galaxy 4s and subsequently spent the majority of the second half texting the photo to friends and sharing this latest meta-photo on Instagram. At press time, it was unclear whether or not Darrell had any idea who won the game.
